MASTERTON BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING MAYOR COMMENDS COMMUNITY WORK “I should like to compliment the society on having such officers, and the officers on having such public spirit to do the job,” said the Mayor, Mr‘T. Jordan, when referring to the large amount of voluntary work done by the various officers of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society at the annual meeting of the branch yesterday afternoon. “At one time,” observed Mr Jordan, “a great deal of work in the community was done voluntarily, but now it nearly always had to be paid for.” There was a large attendance at .the meeting at which Mr Jordan presided. ' In tier opening remarks, the president of the branch, Mrs J. Caselberg expressed appreciation of the co-opera-tion she had received from the secretary, Mrs S. L. P. Free, and members of the committee throughout the year. Mrs Caselberg also referred to the work of the society’s nurses, and the many others who had helped to make the year such a successful one. Moving the adoption of the annual report, Mr Jordan congratulated the branch on its sound financial pbsition and on the excellent work it was car- s rying out. ’ The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patrons, Mesdames Archer Hosking, T.
