He said the executive of the union desired to obtain information regarding losses of sheep in the district through facial eczema. Mr C. Smith said that more sheep, particularly hoggets, had died this yea; in the district from causes other than facial eczema. He thought these causes should be investigated as well as facial eczema cases. Mr G. McGregor said facial eczema was still in existence. He cited a case of a farmer who sent 60 hoggets to the Patea works; 12 had been found to be suffering from internal eczema. Mr Hammond said it was a serious matter. The union was urging increased grants for research purposes. It was decided that the Wanganui provincial offee forward information to the head office.
