COUNTY MATCHES RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY SOME GOOD, SCORES RECORDED LONDON, August 23. The county cricket matches resulted as follows:—Glamorgan, first innings, 3 for 281 (Dyson 94), met Leicester, but owing to the rain the match was drawn. Northants, first innings, 195 (Herman 6 for 63); second innings, 119 (Boyes, 6 for 40). Hampshire, first innings, 250 (Boyes, 104; Partridge, 5 for 64); second innings, 3 lor 69. Hampshire won by seven wickets. Lancashire, first innings, 273 (Barnett, 5 for 63); second innings, 101 (Barnett, 6 for 40); Gloucester, first innings, 371 (Barnett 168); second innings, 0 for 7. Gloucester won by ten wickets. Yorkshire, first innings, 320 (Sutcliffe, 100; Heane, 6 for 74); second innings, 5 for 267 (Mitchell 78); Notts, first innings, 403 (Harris 103); Notts won on the first innings. Somerset, first innings, 357 (Lee 141). Surrey, first innings, 3 for 181. Owing to rain the match was drawn. Sussex first innings, (John Langridge 114, A. Pope, 6 for 48). Derby first innings, 4 for 392 (Aiderman 125, Townsend, not out, 167).
