MYSTERY TORPEDO
YACHT HOLED IN SOLENT. ADMIRALTY RETICENT. (Recd This Day, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, August 23. Sailing in mid-Solent the fifty-ton yacht, June, was holed amidships by a mystery torpedo, fitted with a dummy head. No member of the crew was hurt. The yacht was towed to Gosport. The skipper, Captain A. Barbrock. said: “The torpedo passed under the yacht after striking it. We saw an aeroplane coming up behind us.” ' The Admiralty refuse to make a statement whether the tospedo was from a submarine, ship or aeroplane.
