NATIONAL PARTY
♦ MR HAMILTON ON LABOUR POLICY CHANGES IN THE FORM OF AMENDMENT (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Asked today on his arrival in Auckland, whether he was prepared to give exact details of the way in which the National Party would deal with Labour's major measures if successful at the elections, the Leader of the Opposition. Hon A. Hamilton, indicated that such information might be expected to be given in the National Party’s campaign manifesto, after the present Parliamentary session. Mr Hamilton suggested that changes would be made in the form of amendment. “Governments don’t wipe out things,” he added; "they just take a different direction.” While the National Party is few in numbers in Parliament, said Mr Hamilton, it anticipated a good campaign, with success at the end. The party’s present organisation was the best it had ever had, and the selection of candidates should be completed in a few weeks’ time.
