JOCKEY IN COURT
CHARGE OF BREAKING & ENTERING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 23. Michael Stewart, jockey, aged 23, was arrested this morning on a charge of breaking and entering a counting house in Ponsonby Road and committing theft. When he appeared at the Magistrates’ Court the police applied for a remand until August 29. Defending counsel said that Stewart was a licensed jockey and bail could be provided. The police asked that it be substantial, and it was fixed at £l5O.
