Miss Admore, Te Whiti, is visiting Wellington. Mrs Dodds, Gladstone, is spending the holidays at Eastbourne. Mrs H. M. Major, 'of Masterton, is spending a week at Flat Point. Miss G. Langdon, Wellington, is spending the holidays at Tinui. Mrs Clifford Murfitt, New Plymouth, has returned home with her baby son. Mr and Mrs D. Buchanan, of Lansdowne, have returned from a visit to Canada.

Miss Walls, who has been spending a holiday" in the North, has returned to Masterton. Mrs Coghill, Wanganui, is staying with Mrs Trevor Beetham, Perry Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs S. J. Gill are visiting their daughter, Mrs F. B. Blundell, Tataraimaka, Taranaki. Miss Amy Graham (Waverley) and Miss Helen Simmonds (Patea), are the guests of Mrs J. Reid, Longbush. Mrs E. M. Hodder and family, Totara Street, Lansdowne, are spending the holidays at Paraparaumu beach. Miss Atkinson, Pownall Street, Masterton, who has returned to the North Island from a visit to the South Island, is at present staying in Wellington. Miss Margaret Wrigley, formerly of the Wairarapa College staff, has been appointed to a position on the staff of the State Advances Corporation, Masterton. succeeding Mr Ray McLachlan, who has been transferred to Taumaranui. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Christina, se'cond daughter of Mr and Mrs T. G. Hardie, Featherston, to Trevor, second son of Mrs I. E. Gallus, Waituna West.
