Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.66; .shade temperature-, maximum, 60.7; minimum, 31.4; terrestrial, 21.9; sunshine, 9 hours 54 minutes; frost, 8.5 degrees. General situation: An intense anticyclone now extends from Tasmania across the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, the highest pressure being northeast of East Cape. A cyclonic disturbance is, however, apparently developing to the north-west of Norfolk Island. Forecast: Light to moderate winds with north-easterly to northerly predominating. Weather mainly fair to fine. Temperatures mild.
