FATAL FALL
■RAILWAY PORTER KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TAUMARUNUI. This Day. James Campbell Sharp, a tablet porter at the Taringamotu Railway Nation, was the victim of a fatal accident today. When crossing a railway bridge, he tripped and fell thirty feet, striking an obstructing post with his head. Two boys crossing the bridge later saw a man’s hat and then saw Mr Sharp standing in the creek, with his hands to his head. They became frightened and went on to church at Taumarunui. Returning later, they reported the matter to their father, who went to the spot and found Mr Sharp lying face down in three feet of water, a chain further down the creek. Mr Sharp’s parents reside in Dunedin. An inquest was opened and adjourned.
