Ferrier had a runaway victory in the Australian open golf 'championship today, his aggregate of 283 equalling the lowest score ever recorded at Adelaide, and being only one stroke worse than Gene Sarazen’s record for the championship at Melbourne in 1936. Von Nida was runner-up with 297, and the title-holder, Naismith, was joint third with the Victorian Ron Harris at 298. Other scorers in order were: — H. Williams (Victoria) 299 A. Toogood (Tasmania) 299 E. Cremin (New South Wales) .... 299 V. Richardson (New South Wales) 299 E. Anderson (Queensland) 300 J. Patterson (Canberra) 301 R. Stewart (South Australia) 303 C.
