NEW BUILDING

GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICES. AT COST OF SOME HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. August 21. New printing offices for the Government are to be erected in Wellington close to the present offices, according to a statement made by the Minister of Mines, the Hon P. C. Webb, on his arrival from Wellington. Mr Webb said the new offices would cost several hundred thousand pounds. Plans for the new building, on which the architects had been working since the present Government took office, would be shown to the House of Representatives shortly. Mr Webb added that it was impossible to cope with the work in the present building and some of it had to be let out. There were 400 employees in the office, one of the biggest of its kind in New Zealand or Australia.
