BUSINESS ON DOMINION EXCHANGES DETAILS OF SATURDAY’S SALES The following sales were recorded on the Dominion Stock Exchanges on Saturday:— WELLINGTON ' Sale
GOLD MINING RETURNS The New River dredge returned 33 ounces from 3000 yards for 108 hours. The Whites Electric return totalled 29 ounces for 125 hours from 7700 yards. Talisman Dubbo reports that the first return from 214 tons of low grade ore used for sweetening mill was £129, gold valued at £7 12s an ounce. Assay value >of the mill heads was 5.22dwt gold, and of tails, .14dwt, equal to a saving of £406, the larger proportion of which, as is common in new mills, being held up in the mill and processes. The Mataki Junction dredge reports a return for the week-end August 18, of 96 ounces of smelted gold from 23,000 cubic yards worked in 133 hours.
