Mr and Mrs E. Jenkins, of Masterton, are spending a holiday at Paraparaumu. Mrs P. W. Jackson, of Wellington, is a visitor to Masterton, being the guest of Mrs R. Williams, Worksop Road, Masterton. Mrs Traynor, of Dunedin, is on a visit to Masterton, being the guest of Mr and Mrs F. J. Traynor, Pownall Street. Mrs N| Redstone, of Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs A. Corskie, Pownall Street, Masterton. Mrs K. Anderson, of Ashburton, is the guest of Mrs J. W. Dove, College Street, Masterton. Mrs Ernest Bolton, of Christchurch, spent the weekend with Mrs David Caselberg, Masterton. Mrs T. R. Barrer returned to Masterton on Saturday after a motor trip through the South Island. A number of parties in honour of Miss Noline Stubbs, who is to be married next month, are being arranged by her friends in Carterton.

♦ FEATHERSTON Mrs Walter Robinson was a weekend visitor to Mauriveville. Miss Mavis Sim is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs Marshall, in Auckland. Miss N. Carlyon, Tokaanu, is spending the term vocation with her parents, Mr and Mrs C. J. Carlyon.

CARTERTON Miss A. Barber, of the Dental Clinic staff, is spending the term holidays at Paeroa, Auckland district. Miss K. F. Thornton, of Wellington, and formerly of Masterton, spent the weekend at Carterton, and also was a visitor to Masterton. Miss Thornton later returned to Wellington.

BRIDE-TO-BE ENTERTAINED MISS NORMA WILLIAMS Miss Joan Prentice was hostess recently at a gift evening given at her home, Renall Street, Masterton, for Msis Norma Williams, of Carterton, whose marriage to is take place shortly. There were about thirty _ guests present, and a very happy evening was spent. The popular young bride-to-be was the recipient of many delightful and useful gifts. Miss Prentice received her guests wearing a pretty nilgreen crepe- frock, and the guest of honour, Miss Norma Williams, was dressed in a dainty lavender frock of embossed silk.
