NAVAL PLANS
SPEEDED UP IN FRANCE NEW BATTLESHIPS AND OTHER UNITS. BASES BEING MODERNISED. (Recd This Day, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 19. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Paris correspondent says France is speeding up her naval plans. She has begun the construction of ships aggregating 126,000 tons, including two new 35,000-ton battleships, two seaplane carriers and two 8000-ton cruisers. Naval ports, seaplane bases and arsenals are also being modernised.
