Mr H. M. Bodidington reports that 70 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. General situation: Yesterday’s depression is now centred to the southeast; pressure is rising over the Dominion but has fallen at Chatham Island; a rat’ner intense anti-cyclone is moving on -to the western Tasman Sea. Forecast: South-westerly to westerly winds predominating, strong at first in a few exposed positions but .mainly moderate,, some scattered showers at first chiefijy about and east of the ranges but weather becoming fair to fine; temperat/ires cool to moderate.
