LIFE IMPRISONMENT
DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The announcement that the sentence of death passed at Dunedin on Eric Sandagger Parks for murder had been commuted to imprisonment for. life was made by the Minister of Justice, the Hon H. G. R. Mason, at the conclusion of a meeting of the Executive Council yesterday. Parks was sentenced to death at Dunedin last month for the murder al Henley on April 14 of Frances Amelia Lee, a middle-aged woman to whose daughter he had been affianced.
