Mrs Ross, Rimu Street, Lansdowne, will leave this week on a visit to Dannevirke and Taranaki. Mrs Haggitt, Mataikona, is staying with her sister, Mrs W. L. Hunter, Coradine Street, Masterton. The Misses Dakin, First Street, Lansdowne, will leave this week on an extended visit to England and the Continent.

Miss Jean Begg, national secretary for the Young Women’s Christian Association in India, will arrive at Christchurch next Tuesday. Mrs Shirtcliffe, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs H. S. Alexander, Pownall Street, Masterton, has returned to the South Island.

Miss Cecelia Drummond, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Drummond, of Masterton, has been giving a series of wireless talks, “Continental Close-ups,” in Dunedin under the name of Anna Ross. These talks are greatly appreciated by listeners-in, who always eagerly await them. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Rae Thelma, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Dohnt, Featherston, to Frank, only son of Mrs E. M. and the late Mr R. H. Tregurtha, 111 Villa Street, Masterton.
