ASSURANCE COMPANIES
LEGISLATION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. ■ ,* DIFFICULTIES NOT FINANCIAL. SYDNEY, August 15. Referring to the legislation dealing with two assurance companies passed last week, the companies concerned desire it to be made clear that the difficulties mentioned were not financial. The Minister of Justice, Mr Martin, stated that the interests of policyholders were fully safeguarded and the Government would not take action if it thought that the policy-holders’ funds were not endangered by the McArthur group.
