General situation: A rather deep depression with its centre to the south is moving from the Tasman Sea on to the Dominion. It is likely to be followed by one or more secondaries but pressure has risen considerably over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly to northwesterly winds reaching gale force at times in some exposed positions. Weather cloudy to overcast, with intermittent rain, more especially west of the ranges; temperatures mild.
