MANY LABOUR LEADERS NAMED
EVIDENCE AT THE HOUSE INQUIRY. SPREAD TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. WASHINGTON, Aug. 13. Mr John Frey, a powerful Labour Federation leader, at the House inquiry today, named 400 key C. 1.0. officials as being Communists. They included John Brophy, C. 1.0. director, Francis Gorman, Morris Muster, and Michael Quill, presidents of the Textile, Furniture snd Transport Workers’ Unions, respectively. ■ Frey added that Harry Bridges, another C. 1.0. leader, was a member of the Internationale under the name of Harry Dorgan. He’ stated that he would submit evidence showing the spread of Communism in schools and colleges. He alleged that the New York Teachers’ Union was Communist-con-trolled.
REVOLT AGAINST BRIDGES. JOHN L. LEWIS CONCERNED. LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13. Mr John L. Lewis, leader of the C. 1.0., disturbed at the strength of the revolt against Mr Bridges, has called on Mr Brophy to rush to Los Angeles.
