EAST SCHOOL

TREES AND SHRUBS PLANTED The Masterton East school- grounds were a scene of busy activity on Saturday afternoon, when the school association celebrated Afbor Day. There was a large assembly of scholars, parents and friends, all of whom 'were hard at work pegging out, digging holes and planting trees and shrubs. About 150 native and introduced trees were planted. During the afternoon the ladies’ committee served afternoon tea to those present. Altogether, a pleasant and useful afternoon was spent. The association has to thank all who assisted by their labour, and those who donated trees and shrubs.
