T FREDERICK BROUGHTON ’ BROUGH, of Lake Ferry, being the holder of a publican’s licence in respect of the premises situate at Pirinoa and known as Lake Ferry Hotel, do hereby give notice that I desire to obtain, and will, at the next licensing meeting, to be held at Carterton on the 7th day of September, 1938, apply for a transfer of the said licence from myself to Hugh Swainson, my appointee. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Masterton County Council has declared the Bridge over the Taueru River on the No. 65 Master-ton-Stronvar Main Highway at the 4.55 miles to be unsafe for ALL TRAFFIC exceeding 6’ TONS IN WEIGHT. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that as from this date no person shall enter on, drive or take on or over such Bridge any vehicle the weight of which, together with the load it is carrying, exceeds 61 TONS. The number of stock that shall be safely taken at any time on or over such Bridge is specified in the Notice posted at each end of the said Bridge. Every person committing a breach of this By-law shall, for each such breach, be liable to a penalty of Ten Pounds (£10) and to a Penalty of Five Pounds (£5) for every day or part of a day (beyond the first) during which the offence continues.
