Figures compiled for the Australasian Turf Register show Heroic at the head of the list of winning sires for the season ended on July 31. Heroic’s progeny won 141 races and £53,213 in stakes and placed him at the head of the list for the sixth consecutive year. Spearfelt, with 135 races and £29,072 in stakes, occupies second place. The Buzzard, with 80 races and £28,673 stakes, is third. Chief Ruler, with 38 races and £15,838 in stakes, is seventh.
