NEW GUINEA’S FUTURE
RICH BUT UNDEVELOPED TERRITORY NEED OF ROADING SYSTEM BRISBANE, August 12. A great future is predicted for New Guinea by Mr J. Kruttschnitt, chairman Of New Guinea Goldfields, Ltd. He said that New Guinea proper, apart from gold-mining, was relatively undeveloped. The country offered great prospects for the lumber industry, rubber, coffee and copra, but road transportation facilities must be provided without delay. He is convinced that air transport is inadequate and far to expensive.
