ANGLICAN BISHOPS
TO MEET IN WELLINGTON (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. All the bishops of the Anglican Church in New Zealand are expected at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Anglican Board of Missions in Wellington next Wednesday. They are the Primate, the Most Rev A. W. Averill, the Rt Rev C. A. Cherrington (Waikato), the Rt Rev H. St Barbe Holland (Wellington), the Rt Rev W. G. Hilliard (Nelson), the Rt Rev C. West-Watson (Christchurch), the Rt Rev W. A. R. Fitchett (Dunedin). The Bishop of Melanesia, the Rt Rev H. W. Baddeley, will also attend. The bishop-elect of Waiapu, the Rev G. V. Gerard, has been invited to be present. In addition a number of clergy and laymen representing the various dioceses will be present. A thanksgiving service for the success of the Board of Missions’ work during the past year will be held in St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral on Wednesday night. The preacher will be the Rev C. W. Haskell, a missionary on furlough from India, Archbishop Averill will pronounce the blessing. A feature of the service will be a special Te Deum, the bishops and clergy forming a cross in the nave. Apart from the Board of Missions meeting the visiting churchmen will be occupied with the business of the Board of Theological Studies and the standing committee of General 'Synod.
