LINER’S ADVENTURE

NOT STOPPED BY ARMED TRAWLER SIGNAL FIRED BY DUTCH WARSHIP. NO INTERFERENCE BY REBEL PATROLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Recd This Day, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, August 11. The Union Castle Company has issued a statement saying that the Llandaff Castle was not stopped by an armed trawler, as was reported yesterday. It is explained that a Dutch sloop fired a blank shot at a Dutch tanker as a signal to stop. The master of the Llandaff Castle, not being clea| which vessel was meant, slowed down, and then sailed at full speed when he realised that the signal was not meant for him. The usual insurgent patrol was in the vicinity, but did not signal or interfere. Accounts given by passengers apparently were confused.
