WAIRARAPA SEAT

NATIONAL PARTY MEETING. MR J. F. THOMPSON SPEAKS AT GREYTOWN. The King’s Theatre, Greytown, was crowded to the doors last night when Mr J. F. Thompson, Nationalist candidate for the Wairarapa seat, made what he termed his first official bow to the electorate. The Mayor, Mr A. W. Horton, presided and in introducing Mr Thompson referred to the prominent part he had played in local body and other affairs in the Wairarapa over a long period of years. Mr Thompson, who was enthusiastically received, said that the issues at the forthcoming election had never been clearer. They resolved themselves into a party matter pure and simple. Mr Thompson went on to contrast Labour’s policy and the results of its administration with the aims and objects of the National Party. He was given a most attentive hearing and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks by acclamation.
