DAVIS CUP

THE AUSTRALIAN-JAPANESE DRAW. TEAMS SEEN AT PRACTICE. (Recd This Day, 12.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 10. The Davis Cup draw is as follows: — Quist v Nakano; Bromwich v Yamagishi. The doubles draw will be announced later. The draw for Saturday will be Yamagishi v Quist; Bromwich v Nakano. The Australian and Japanese teams practiced for several hours in opposite courts. It is evident that the newer Japanese players have virtually abandoned the back court game, in which they were supreme. The Japanese in the doubles today showed dash, speed and brilliance, but suffered from many errors. The Australians played a similar style of game in the doubles, but were sufficiently more accurate to show superiority.
