The London, Midland, Scottish Railway is building ten 160-ton express engines, five streamlined and five of orthodox appearance, to be named after duchesses.
At a meeting of the ladies’ committee of the Old Boys’ Football Club it was decided to hold a dance on September 14, this being the official function of the Rugby Union, when the Auckland footballers will be the guests of the club.
