LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY

PROPOSALS OF COMMITTEE ADOPTED. INTERIM EXECUTIVE ELECTED. Rooms last evening, considerable interest is being taken in the project. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan presided. The proposals, of which a summary has already appeared in the “TimesAge,” submitted by the provisional committee set up the previous week were adopted by the meeting. Briefly, these provided for the election of an interim committee of five members and a secretary-treasurer to carry on meantime, pending a meeting to be held in February next at which, if it were thought desirable, a society would be definitely formed. In the meantime it was proposed to present a three-act play from September 14 to September 16 and also three one-act plays on Monday, October 31. The following were elected to the provisional committee: Mrs R. Miller, Miss K. Cruickshank, Messrs F. E. McCallum, T. C. Wynne and J. H. Kemnitz; secretary-treasurer, Mr T. E. Handcock. After the meeting the secretary enrolled 38 members. Intending members are asked to communicate with Mr Handcock. Page’s Buildings. Perry Street, for enrolment forms.
