WAIRARAPA CLUB. NOTES ON SATURDAY’S RACE. (By “Three-Speed.”) Saturday’s race of 23 miles to the Black Bridge and back was held under perfect conditions and the times recorded were very fast. R. Killington, off the limit mark, vo ae an exceptionally fine race to gain his first victory. rt. Green, also off the limit, was going well till he had the misfortune to hit a dog. E. Lefort was riding well till his comarker, R. Green, crashed. He then stopped to see if Green was hurt and then pulled out of the race. W. Gay is riding exceptionally well and gained second place on Saturday. P. Mayes has only ridden three or four times to gain a place nearly every time. C. .Gourlay, G. Swinn, M. Graham and D. Green rode very well to be bunched together at the finish. J. Brader came back and rode with the scratch men io gain second fastest time, riding a fine race. K. Woollett again gained fastest time, which ,is beginning to be a habit Of'hiS. ’ ‘ ; R. Copp 7 'was beaten in the sprint by J. Brader but gained third fastest time. .. : . - - B. Dooling had the misfortune to fall and injured himself. He hopes to be out again next Saturday. C. Dykes, D. Wishart and B. Harman were non-starters owing to severaT reasons.
