DEAN OF CANTERBURY
ENGAGEMENT TO ARTIST. (Reed This Day, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, August 9. The Dean of Canterbury, aged 64, whose first wife was described as the finest looking woman in Manchester, is affianced to Mary Edwards, aged 31, an artist, who has exhibited at the Royal Academy. The wedding is to take place in the autumn. Meanwhile Miss Edwards, who long has been connected with the Deanery, where she has acted as hostess, will accompany the Dean to Spain, with a food ship committee, which will care for orphaned children in Barcelona.
