Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 66 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.

General situation: Yesterday’s depression has passed eastward and pressure is rising rapidly over the Dominion. A secondary is, however, approaching across the south Tasman. An anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia. Forecast: Strong southerly winds later veering to westerly or possibly northwesterly and temporarily moderating. Weather unsettled with passing showers and snow on the ranges but a temporary improvement likely. Temperatures cold.
