Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.80. Shade temperature: Maximum 56.8, minimum 41.6, terrestrial 40.4. Sunshine, 42 minutes. Rain, 71 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 66 points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today.
General situation: Yesterday’s depression has passed eastward and pressure is rising rapidly over the Dominion. A secondary is, however, approaching across the south Tasman. An anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia. Forecast: Strong southerly winds later veering to westerly or possibly northwesterly and temporarily moderating. Weather unsettled with passing showers and snow on the ranges but a temporary improvement likely. Temperatures cold.
