Yap Stone Money.
A very fine example of Yap stone money, purchased in Sydney by the assistant director, Mr A. W. B. Powell, for the Auckland War Memorial Museum, has now come to hand. It is a circular stone about 23in across. It can be considered, however, as quite small change, for some of the larger denominations in Yap Island, which is in the Caroline group, measure pft to 7ft across.
