SOCIAL SCIENCE

Y ACTION BY THE BRITISH ASSOCIATION PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH NEW DIVISION (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 4. The British Association for the Advancement of Science will meet in Cambridge on August 17. Lord Rayleigh will deliver his presidential address on “Natural Vision and Vision Aided by Science.” After that the 2500 members who are expected to attend will break up into twelve sections for the discussion of papers by various authorities. The movement, which has been gathering momentum in recent years, for bringing the association’s work into closer relation with the social problems of the hour has resulted in a proposal which will be considered at the business meeting for the creation of a new division to be devoted to the social and international relations of science.
