General situation: An anticyclone of considerable intensity covers the eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand, the highest pressures being west of the North: Island, pressure is falling over eastern Australia. Forecast: Light variable winds, with northerlies gradually prevailing and later freshening; weather fine, rnilder days but cold night temperatures with some frosts.
