The insurgents made a surprise attack, but were-routed. The loyalists are reported to be consolidating their gains on the Teruel front. Insurgent aircraft are more active throughout Spain, concentrating 'on coastal towns, which are being bombed incessantly. FOREIGN OFFICERS MANY ON LOYALIST SIDE ACCORDING TO REBELS (Recd This Day, 1.15 p.m.) SARAGOSSA, August 5. Is is officially stated that it is irrefutably proved that a thousand French officers, including those on the active list on leave, and reservists, are fighting with the republicans on the Ebro ’ front. Is is also declared that leading loyalist General Staff members and many commanders of brigades and regiments are foreigners.
