QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY

CELEBRATION IN BRITAIN. ROYAL FAMILY PROCEEDS TO BALMORAL. (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 11.5 a.m.) RUGBY, August 4. In honour of the Queen’s Birthday, a salute was fired at noon in Hyde Park and also by warships in port and shore forts and batteries. There were flags on all public buildings. The Queen spent her birthday on the Royal yacht, Victoria and Albert, which, with the Royal Family aboard, arrived at Aberdeen in the afternoon. Aberdeen was gay with flags and bunting, and in the brilliant sunshine thousands cheered the Royal party as they motored to Balmoral, where a cordial reception was given by a large crowd.
