OBITUARY
Mr GEORGE McHATTIE.
The death occurred last night, after a brief illness, of Mr George McHattie, of Worksop Road, a son of the late Mr and Mrs George McHattie, of Pine Street, Masterton. The late Mr McHattie was a cabinet maker by trade, and was very popular with a large circle of friends in Masterton, where he had spent most of his life. He was a single man and took a keen interest in sport. He was a member of the Red Star football club in his younger days and played in a number of teams which won championship honours. Mr George McHattie, senior, died about two years ago, and Mrs McHattie some nine years ago. Mr McHattie leaves four brothers, Messrs Edward (Taumaranui), Henry (Taumaranui), Jock (Masterton) and William (Petone), and three sisters, Mesdames Reynolds and A. Miller and Miss McHattie, all of Petone. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon, leaving Hydes funeral service chapel at 3 o’clock.
