MASTERTON CLUB — SILVER JUBILEE CUP RACES Tomorrow afternoon the Masterton Harrier Club will hold its second race for Mr C. Willis’s Silver Jubilee Cup: • The race will be held from the Park Oval and a large crowd is expected to be present. The holder of the trophy is Colin Ross. The trophy was presented last year by Mr Willis to commemorate the club’s 25th jubilee. It is to be raced for each year. Mi’ Willis is well-known throughout New Zealand as a staunch supporter of both winter and summer athletics. He has been the Wellington province’s crosscountry selector for a number of years, while he also did good work for Otago as their delegate on the N.Z.A.A.A. over a long period of years. Mr Willis will be present to" view the race for his trophy tomorrow. The following are-the handicaps:— W. Pullar, G. Gregory, scr; R. Shaw, 50sec; C. Wright, 1.30; T. O'Dowd, 2.15; G. Frederickson, 2.45; C. Long, 3.30; J. Haise, 4.0; C. Ross, 4.30; H. Harris, H. Carle, 4.45; C. Pringle, 5.0, I. Shaw, 5.0; R. Gully, 5.45; J. Baikie, 6.30. Frederickson, 18; H. Harris, 10; I. Shaw, 11: J. Baikie. 8; H. Carle, 17; C. Ross, 13;'R. Gully, 13. KIATERE CLUB. ROSE BOWL CONTEST. Tomorrow members of the Kiatere Harrier Club will compete for a Rose Bowl donated this season by Mrs R. C. Falloon. This handsome trophy will be competed for each year until won outright by the runner gaining three wins. It has been decided that the race be run each season on the Saturday prior to the second race for the Turnbull Cup, and that the distance be four miles. The event will be run on open handicap and tomorrow will be over a course starting and finishing at the Solway Showgrounds. The starting time is 2.30 p.m. The following handicaps have been declared:—A. McDonald, W. Burgess, W. McDonald, scr., W. Burns, R. Greeks 16secs., J. Laing 1.18, A. Burns, A. L. McDonald 1.25, B.
