NAVAL EXPERT

EXPERIENCED OFFICER LENT TO NEW ZEALAND (Reed Tins Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, August 3. Commander A. B. Fanshame, Deputy Superintendent and Assistant King’s Harbourmaster at Portland Dockyard, has been lent to the New Zealand Government for three years, the appointment to date from tomorrow. He last served at sea as an executive officer of H.M.S.' York, the flagship of the American station, in 1934-36. Previously he commanded river gunboats in China and destroyers and submarines in the Dardanelles in war time. He will complete 32 years in the Navy in September.
