REP. RUGBY
NORTH OTAGO DEFEATED BY CANTERBURY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, August 3. Canterbury outclassed North Otago in a Rugby match at the Showgrounds today, running up a score of 27 points to 6. The defence of the home backs, with the exception of Anderson, was poor. Hadlee (Canterbury) was the star performer, running his wings into position nicely for Stevenson to score three tries and Empson one. Rankin played a roving game and scored a try. Herman was the outstanding Canterbury forward, and also scored a try. Hadlee converted two tries and kicked a penalty goal. White converted one try. North Otago’s points came from two penalty goals kicked by J. Easton.
