OUTBREAK OF FIRE

MINOR DAMAGE TO HOUSE IN COLE STREET. BRIGADE MAKES GOOD SAVE. The Masterton Fire Brigade received a call shortly after one o'clock this afternoon to an outbreak of fire at Mr H. H. Pavitt's residence in Cole Street. The fire started from a caliphont in the laundry and when the brigade arrived part of the back wall was burnt through. Unsuccessful efforts had been made to subdue the outbreak with a garden hose, but the brigade effected a timely save. Although the house was filled with smoke, not a great deal of damage was done.
