MEETING OF WORKMAN'S FRIEND A meeting of the directors of the Workman’s Friend, No. 2, Building Society was held last night, Mr F. J. Hunn presiding. Others present were: Messrs W. Kemp, A. E. Hubbard, A. V. Dixon, C. Walker, T. B. Braggins, and W. H. Jackson. A report was received from the society’s solicitors regarding the decision of the Adjustment Commission on an application for the variation of a mortgage. An application for the variation of another mortgage was agreed to. An extraordinary general meeting was held for the appropriation of £4OO by sale, only one tender being received for £lOO at a satisfactory price. It was decided to hold a ballot on September 7 for the appropriation of another £4OO.
