IN SPARE FIVE MINUTES

MUCH CAN BE DONE. It is surprising how much can be done even in the short space of five minutes if your set your mind to the wqrk. In less than five minutes you can look over the dahlia tubers, removing any sign of decay. In the same space of time you can go over the bearings of the lawnmower with a little kerosene and lubricating oil to clear away last season’s dirt and grit, before using the machine again. See what a good job you can make of weeding a small bed or border in five minutes; the result will be astonishing. If rain interrupts outdoor work, there are always tools that need sharpening. You can do three times the amount of work with sharp tools, and it requires only a few moments to put them in order.
