METHODIST CHURCH
WOMEN’S AUXILIARY REPORT. The annual report of the Methodist Church’s Women’s Missionary Auxiliary states inter alia: —The meetings during the year have been well attended and very inspiring. The leadership of the meetings has been extended, various members taking charge. The social side of our church life is also among our activities. The Auxiliary has entertained Sister Common of the Solomons, the representatives to Synod, the Eketahuna Missionary Auxiliary and the P.W.M.U. In March a successful garden party was held at the residence of Mrs W. R. Nicol. Social afternoons have been held at the homes of members. During the year we have listened with interest to the various speakers, Miss Lois McGregor, Sister Common, Mrs Masters, of Wellington, the Rev. J. Serwen and the Rev. F. Parker. On various occasions Mesdames J. Conly, H. Speight, G. Milne and V. Jackson have rendered much appreciated solos. On the world day of prayer, Mrs Stockwell took charge of the Methodist session. During the year we have welcomed various members to our ranks and fareWelled the Rev. and Mrs G. F. Stockwell, Mrs A. Thomas and Dr. and Mrs Allan Rutter. Since the last annual meeting 3 cases of goods have been sent to the Solomon Islands and 3 sacks of clothing to the Maoris. Several donations of stamps have been sent on by Mrs Blane. We are very grateful to the Press, who have given us unstinted space during the past year and would place on record our sincere thanks for their ever generous help, also to the various speakers and hostesses. The Auxiliary is in a very sound financial position, having a credit balance of £3.—E. G. Beale, hon. secretary and acting-treasurer.
