ROAD CYCLING
WAIRARAPA CLUB’S RACE. WIN FOR GOURLAY. ’ Saturday’s race to the Gladstone Store and back resulted in a win for C.Gourlay off the 6J minute mark, followed by D. Mayes off 9 minutes, and W. Gay off 7J minutes. Conditions were bitterly cold throughout the race, a slight head wind being experienced on the outward journey. The team’s race held in conjunction with this race resulted in a dead heat between Woollett’s team and that of Copp. The results are as follow: —C. Gourlay (6lmin.). 1; D. Mayes (9min.), 2; W. Gay (7Jmin.), 3. Fastest time: R. Copp, 1; J. Brader, 2; K. Woollett, 3. The following are the positions in the various trophies and including Saturday’s race: — Greenwood Cup: K. Woollett, 10; J.
