BUSINESS ON DOMINION EXCHANGES DETAILS OF SATURDAY’S SALES The following sales were recorded on the Dominion Stock Exchanges on Saturday:— WELLINGTON
GOLD MINING RETURNS The New River dredge reports a return of 320 z from 10,000 cubic yards worked in 126 hours. The Nemona dredge reports a return of 330 z from 13,000 cubic yards worked in 125 hours. The Argo dredge return was 58oz for 131 hours and 15,000 cubic yards. The Mataki Junction dredge return for the week ended July 28 was 30oz of smelted gold for 127 hours and 18,000 cubic yards dredged. The Goldfields Dredging Company advises a return of 28oz 15dwt for 155 hours’ dredging. RECORD PROFIT EARNED BY BROKEN HILL PROPRIETARY. SYDNEY, July 30. The Broken Hill Proprietary Company Ltd., in a preliminary statement reports a net profit of £1,300,460 for the year ended May 31, compared with £1,183,171 for the previous year. The dividend for the year was at the rate of 12J per cent. i The “Daily Telegraph” says the Broken Hill Company’s profit is the highest ever earned by a public company in Australia.
