WAIRARAPa association TOURNAMENT. FINALS TO BE DECIDED TONIGHT. The Wairarapa Badminton Association’s championship and handicap tournament was continued last night when a further series of games was played in all sections. Play will be continued this afternoon at 1.30 o’clock and again at 7 p.m. The finals will be decided this evening, When some splendid games should be witnessed. Following are the results of last night’s games:— MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. Second round: Lulham beat Dwane, 15/10, 15/12. Semi-finals: Hawksworth beat Martin, 15/1, 15/5; Payton beat Lulham, 7/15, 15/5,,15/11. MEN’S HANDICAP SINGLES. Second round: Dwane (owe 4) beat Newland (scr.), 21/13; Petersen (2) beat Dixon (11), 21/19. Third round: Martin (owe 25) beat Dwane (owe 4), 21/17; Payton (owe 40) beat O’Connor (owe 20), 21/12. Semi-final: Payton (owe 40) beat Smith (2), 22/20. MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. First round: Payton and Lulham beat Martin and Simpson, 15/1, 15/4. Semi-finals: Hawksworth and O’Connor beat Wilson and Rishworth, 15/7, 15/11, 15/2; Payton and Lulham beat Walker and McCullough, 15/8, 15/3. LADIES’ HANDICAP (B GRADE).
