WEDDING

KENNEDY—BEETHAM. Tiie marriage took place at St Patrick's Church this afternoon of Miss Ail?. Alice, second daughter of Mr and Mrs N. T. B. W. Beetham, “Towcett,” Masterton, and Desmond Patrick, only son of Mrs J. J. Kennedy, Opaki Road, Masterton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev Father N. Moore. The bride, who was given away by her father, presented a charming picture in a slim-fitting frock of silver metal clothe, with a long sweeping train. Her beautiful tulle veil was held in place by a halo of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of arum lillies. The four bridesmaids, Misses Josephine Rutherford (chief), Nora Beetham, Doreen Kennedy and Lois Hosking were frocked alike in wine-col-oured velvet, modelled on Grecian lines, the close fitting bodices being gathered on to a straight panel which formed the front of the frock and with a fullness at the back falling to a slight train. They wore dainty caps of the same material as the frocks, with eye veils, and carried bouquets of cream arum lilies. Mr J. V. A. Reid was best man and the groomsmen were Messrs Walton White, A. W. Buchanan and N. Beetham. After the wedding a reception was held at the Ranfurly Club where Mrs Beetham received the guests wearing a brown lace frock with hat to match and carrying a bouquet of autumn tints. Mrs Beetham was assisted by Mrs Kennedy, who wore a smoke blue frock trimmed with moleskin fur. Her hat was brown and she carried a bouquet of pink camelias. Among those at the wedding were Mrs Norman Beetham, grandmother of the bride and the Misses Kennedy, aunts of the groom. Tonight a very large number of friends will be entertained at a dance in the Arcade Hall. Mr and Mrs D. P. Kennedy will reside in the Pohangina Valley.
